Benchmark design from a fully integrated system: The Opto Advant™ laser is integrated into a specially designed CSO Slit lamp. This high quality design allows for the Advant™ to operate as a normal examination slit lamp, providing the ophthalmologist with a diagnostic and treatment system in one package.

Ultimate performance: The Opto Advant™ is equipped with the latest Crystal-Q Switch Technology Laser Cavity providing the highest cutting precision and industry’s lowest energy optical breakdown. The lower energy breakdown also reduces the noise associated with disruption, making the procedure less traumatic for the patient. This means achieving the expected tissue disruption using less than the usual required energy. This technology combined with long term consistent and accurate shot-to-shot output energy provides the physicians significantly reduced operating costs.

Faster Treatment:The industry fastest 3Hz firing saves time and allows you to perform quick and highly accurate treatment. This function is particularly practical when encountering a moving eye or anxious patients.

Additional Features

Super YAG Offset Settings: The Opto Advant™ features the highest available Nd: YAG offset settings, continually variable of ±500 microns. This feature significantly assists in varied clinical requirements as different offset can be used for PMMA, silicone or acrylic lenses, and the offset can even be adjusted on the same IOL to compensate for a parallax effect in the periphery. This eliminates the need to manually defocus, permits a clear field of view, allows for lens polishing and minimizes lens pitting.

Enhanced Comfort and Accessibility: The Opto Advant™ has been designed with the ophthalmologist and patient in mind. All easy to use controls are strategically located within easy reach of the ophthalmologist and the outbound chinrest provides comfort for all sized patients. The Advant™ is available integrated with a motorized mobile stand providing convenient wheel chair access or a motorized moveable wheelchair-accessible stand for convenient portability.

Superior Ergonomics: The ergonomic and slim line design of the system, combined with the integrated slit lamp, make the Advant™ the most comfortable system in the market to operate — far ahead of the competitors. There are no restricted movements for ophthalmologist or patient, no awkward/limiting working distance and no obtrusive mechanical noise. The focal length and working distance are optimized to allow sufficient room to work with the patient yet ensure the patient is close enough for the ophthalmologist to reach the patient’s head with comfort.

Integrated 5-Position magnification changer: The Opto Advant™ is supplied with a three-position magnification changer that provides great flexibility for diagnosis and treatment, allowing optimal view of fine structures or wide field view of the retina. Unlike most competitors, the magnification changer comes integrated as standard part of the device still maintaining the smallest working distance from the binoculars to the patient, eliminating reach and back strain when needing to operate whilst holding the lens.

Undistorted Laser delivery: Due to a unique integrated slit lamp delivery design, the Advant™ does not have a beam splitter between the objective lens and the focal plane. The beam splitter induces astigmatism and colour distortion of the image, resulting in optical aberrations that reduce the quality of view. This integrated design eliminates a beam splitter optic, thereby increasing the working distance between the laser aperture and the patient which adds further to the use and convenience of operation as the physician has more room to manage the patient’s position and to hold the laser lens.

Sophisticated Laser Firing Mechanism: Unlike most manufacturers, the Opto Advant™ features a direct fire to joystick button mechanism. As other laser manufacturers utilize slip rings due to the old slit lamp designs, firing of the laser often becomes problematic as the slip rings coatings wear off with time. This issue is completely eliminated with the Opto Advant™.

Most Modular construction: The Opto Advant™ features the most modular design of any YAG laser manufacturers. This design philosophy allows for a simpler construction, increased reliability, and ease of routine services and maintenance. This assures longer and more reliable operation with minimum system downtime due to ease of fault diagnosis and repair and lower out of pocket expenses.

Size and Performance: The Opto Advant™ is the smallest and most compact packed laser Photodisruptor in the market. Weighting just 21kg transportation is convenient for multiple practice or operating room transportation.
