PacScan 300 Series
Twenty seven years of leadership in ophthalmic ultrasound brings you the state-of-the art 300 series, portable, digital biometric ruler.
The Sonomed Pacscan 300 series is available in three configurations: a combination A-scan / pachymeter (300AP), stand alone A-Scan (300A), or stand alone pachymeter (300P).
Highlights
Sonomed Reliability: our engineering and sales staff have over 27 years experience manufacturing quality ophthalmic ultrasound systems.
Sonomed accuracy:A combination of high frequency, low noise probe and fast precise algorithm enables scan capture immediately upon application along visual axis.
Sonomed Dependability: Sonomed is still supporting instrument manufactured over 20 years ago. We stand behind our products for the life of the equipment.
Ease of Use: the easy automatic calibration functions and touch screen with large backlit display makes operating easy while interpreting results is simple.
- Complete measurement and calculation record within seconds
- Ability to store up to five different user profiles
- Portable and compact weighing less than 6 pounds (3 kg)
- Fully adjustable tilt for ergonomic comfort
- Built-in probe sensitivity test and calibration check ensures continued accuracy of system
A-Scan
- Portable, digital A-scan, with easy-to-use touch screen operation, extreme accuracy, repeatable measurements and reliability
- Built-in immersion capabilities and up to eight IOL formulas, including two post-refractive formulas are available
- Axial length, ACD, and lens thickness are provided for each scan
- Group up to five scans with average axial length and standard deviation automatically calculated
- Easily review each scan, delete outlying scans, and add new scans, as desired
- Customizable tissue velocities of each structure and highly-developed automatic scan recognition algorithms ensure accurate and repeatable measures
Pachymeter
- Measurement accuracy and repeatability are assured by each scan actually consisting of 256 individual measurements and an automatic measurement algorithm to ensure that only scans with proper probe alignment are accepted
- High probe frequency and processing algorithms enable measures as thin as 125 microns, for measuring corneal flap or bed, and multiple corneal maps are available
- Comes standard with central corneal thickness correction calculator for measured applanation IOP
Clinical Applications
The PacScan A-Scan functions can be used to measure the axial length of the eye. Because it uses sounds waves, instead of light, the A-Scan can penetrate thick cataracts to take measurements. Systems that use light waves would not be suitable for any patients with thick cataracts.
The PacScan Pachymeter is used to measure central corneal thickness. This is important in corneal disease diagnosis and monitoring. It is also necessary when completing crosslinking procedures.
